Full Time (10 months, 200 days)
Reporting to the Director of Library and Information Services, the Library Technician will provide the technical and administrative services necessary to ensure the successful operation of the Peter B. Ditchburn Library, including the maintenance of the library collection and resources.
The Library Technician will perform processing and cataloguing services to ensure the consistency and accuracy of the cataloguing of print, audio and digital materials. Experience in the operation and basic maintenance of automated library systems (preferably Destiny) is an asset as is the management and maintenance of the administrative files and records and the coordination and management of library volunteers.
The successful candidate is a person of impeccable integrity and the highest levels of ethical practice and organizational skills; is self-motivated and is able both to work independently with limited supervision and also within a team; has the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly and enjoys working with students of all ages.
Successful completion of Grade 12 coupled with a post-secondary Library Technician Diploma or Certificate from a recognized institution or completed coursework in the area of library systems and management along with a minimum of three years’ experience in an automated library stetting is preferred.
