A Momentous Day at STS!

On Friday, May 28, 2021, we officially named our Elementary School facility the Rose Elementary Wing. This momentous occasion commemorates the Rose family’s incredible generosity which allowed the dream and vision of our state-of-the-art new Elementary School to be realized two years ago. Thank you, Mike, Sue, Aidan ’20, Jeremy ’14, and Brendan ’12 Rose, and to the many donors who contributed to this project. Our community is forever grateful for the gift of this “Third Teacher” where dreams are created, nurtured, and fulfilled. On a daily basis, we are amazed by the learning, discovery, and connection that occurs in our Rose Elementary School. The positive energy that is created fuels a generation! 

Nelson Mandela, former President of South Africa and political activist, has said that “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. ... Education provides you the tools to improve the quality of life in modern society both economically and sociologically.”  We can think of no better way to ensure the future of our world than by investing in our children. Education is the great liberator and equalizer in an uncertain and unequal world. Today, we see the impact of these gifts at STS in a very tangible way, and in the words of Warren Buffet: “Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” Thank you to all who ‘plant the trees’ for our future generations.
