Say Yes as a Team

It's 7:00 a.m. on a Tuesday morning and the sounds of sneakers on the floor and athletes calling for the ball drift out from the Sandy Heard Sports Centre. It's not just any normal Tuesday, it's the first day of school in September and the gym is filled with about 30 students working hard and having fun together for volleyball team tryouts, before classes have even started. 

Paying it Forward

The sense of community at Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School (STS) is deep, crossing multiple generations. Todd and Esther Worsley say they are “big fans of the STS community” not only for the great education in the classroom, but for the caring relationships that develop between teachers, staff, and students.

Outstanding results at the International Independent School Public Speaking Championships (IISPC)

Arbaz Q. ’21, Max C. ’20 and Kirk S.’ 20 participated in the International Independent Schools Public Speaking Competition (IISPSPC) at Buckingham, Browne and Nichols School in Boston, MA last week. This is the largest public speaking competition in the world with 44 schools participating from Canada, the United States, Bermuda, India, Peru, South Africa, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.

The faculty mentorship program at STS

The faculty mentorship program at STS was introduced in 2006 in order to formally mentor new faculty and guide their induction into the school community over an extended period, as they begin their careers at STS.

Grade 5 students become stewards of the land

Grade 5 classes recently made their annual trek to the Ann and Sandy Cross Conservation Area to learn more about becoming Stewards of the Land. Students developed a strong awareness that the Cross Conservation Area represents a significant attempt to take action to make our world better, and that the Cross family are true Stewards of the Land.
