Elementary Speech Day Celebration 2021
This year, our annual Elementary Speech Day Celebration was presented in the C.A. Smith Arts Theatre. Despite restrictions regarding the size and cohorting of audience members, we were able to invite the Grade 5 and 6 students to view their respective grades’ performances live in the theatre.
In keeping with our Elementary Speech Day Celebration theme, there were representatives selected to showcase performances from each grade level. Student performers can be congratulated on their hard work and outstanding presentations.
The Grade 5 students (Jayden M. '28, Mysha S. '28, Beck C. '28, Ben B. '28, Mia H. '28 and Ella O. '28) shared their solo acting monologue pieces, using costumes to enhance their interpretations of the work, while the Grade 6 students, (Megan M. '27, Sarah M. '27, Alex F. '27, Katelyn E. '27, Brooke C. '27 and Pratap K. '27) conducted research on changemakers in society and then wrote speeches about the ways in which these social activists made positive changes for humanity.
Our Masters of Ceremonies, Elise G. '27, Lilyan F. '27, and Hayden M. '27, did an outstanding job highlighting the performances of the students of the River Community. And thanks to our wonderful IT Department, For your viewing pleasure, the videotaped performances can be seen here.
