English Collaboration Across Divisions

One of the best parts of being in a K-12 school is having our older and younger kids build friendships that are rooted in storytelling and inter-grade literacy.
In April our Grade 11 IB HL Literature class was studying Polish poet Wislawa Szymborska, who writes on childhood wonder and curiosity. Our class then created poems of their own about childhood and shared them with the Grade 2s, where the Grade 2s gave their poems titles of their choosing! In Grade 7, we paired up with the Grade 1s as they read to us their “pocket poems”!
