Senior School Reach for the Top win silver!

On Saturday, April 27, the Senior Reach for the Top team attended the 2019 Provincial Reach Tournament hosted by the Renert School in Calgary. They competed well and showcased their talent, answering questions ranging from “Express sin(2a)-1 in terms of cosine?” to “Which Canadian Prime Minister was infamous for partaking in séances to contact his dead mother?”. After the morning’s round-robin play, STS (Cole Shaigec ’19, Ben Coleman ’19, Sam Barber ’20, Max Christie ’20, and Kyle Mullen ’20) placed first in their pool with a perfect 5-0 record. Their quarter-final match was successful and a great warm-up for what would be a veritable nail-biting semi-final in which they prevailed by 10 points for one question. They ended their Alberta season by winning the silver medal in the finals and clinching a spot at Nationals. They are looking forward to representing both STS and Alberta in Toronto at the end of May.
