Supporting health and wellness during difficult times

It was quite an atypical year to say the least! STS worked hard to encourage student engagement and reduce feelings of isolation during several months of RAPID (Remote Alternate Program Instructional Delivery), due to the COVID-19 pandemic. From themed days like crazy hat day and bring-a-stuffed-animal-to-zoom, to our own version of the newscast 'Some Good News', students had opportunities to connect and have a good laugh.

Nil Nisi Optimum

Nil Nisi Optimum (NNO) Alumni are selected from a multitude of decades and professions, and have brought great honour and pride to their alma mater. This year, three more alumni who have demonstrated notable accomplishments in leadership, service and dedication to their professions and community joined this prestigious group.

Innovation, creativity, and connection in the midst on a pandemic

In March 2020, when schools around the world had to close their doors to keep students, staff and their loved ones safe, at STS we made a firm commitment to our families: a promise to not only finish the school year and cover the required outcomes, but to continue to provide enrichment and a strong sense of community while ensuring our students flourished and succeeded.

Important Community message from our Head of School

As a school and a community, we have watched the protests and rallies in the U.S. and around the world as people have mobilized to stand up against anti-Black racism. We want to acknowledge the deep damage to humanity caused by racism, and our sincere belief as educators that every child has the right to be loved, respected, and supported to become the best version of themselves in our school.

Paying it Forward

The sense of community at Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School (STS) is deep, crossing multiple generations. Todd and Esther Worsley say they are “big fans of the STS community” not only for the great education in the classroom, but for the caring relationships that develop between teachers, staff, and students.
