STS alumni Myles Chase '15 and Scott Wilson '15 want to start a conversation. The two university students have begun a non-profit organization, Open Arms, as a way to educate high school and post-secondary students on the importance of mental health and supporting friends through difficult times.
On Saturday, June 9, the SV Rugby team was defeated 25 – 14 by Banff Community HS at the Calgary Rugby Union and finished with a silver medal at the ASAA Tier III Rugby Championship.

Grade 10 student, Zaki Lakhani ’20, represented Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School and Canada with excellence at the World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships (WIDPSC), held from April 9-14 at Bishop’s Diocesan College located in Cape Town, South Africa, accompanied by STS speech coach, Mr. Fink. We are delighted to announce that Zaki was named the World Champion in the Category of Interpretive Reading and placed 4th overall out of 160 competitors from 12 countries.
On March 1, 2018, 10 STS delegates from the school’s Model UN Program travelled to New York City to participate in the National High School Model United Nations for only the second time in the program’s history. This is one of the largest, most esteemed Model UN conferences in North America and one of the ‘most international’ with delegates from over 50 countries in attendance.

Students Compete at the International Independent Schools Public Speaking Competition Held In Winnipeg
Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School placed sixth out of 44 independent schools attending from Canada, the United States, Scotland, England, Bermuda, India, South Africa, Peru and South Korea.
This past month, five Senior School students traveled to South Africa to participate in the Round Square International Conference and a week-long pre-conference tour.
