Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School (STS) is a premier, co-educational, independent day school that traces its roots and traditions back over 110 years. STS develops well-balanced students for a life of purpose by inspiring excellence in scholarship, leadership and character. 

The School offers a rich and robust co-curricular program, a technology-rich environment and enrolls approximately 670 students in Kindergarten to Grade 12. In addition to a strong academic program, STS is the only independent school in Alberta to develop students’ global perspective through the International Baccalaureate Programme (PYP, MYP, and DP) and through membership in the Round Square international network of schools. Kindergarten Teacher (1.0 FTE)

This exceptional teaching opportunity is being created due to the excitement, enthusiasm, and interest in adding a second Kindergarten class.  The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative teacher who appreciates working in a collaborative environment both within the department and across the School. Kindergarten Education Assistant (Full-time, probationary)

This exceptional opportunity is being created due to the excitement, enthusiasm, and interest in adding a second Kindergarten class at STS.  Reporting to the Elementary School Principal, the Education Assistant will provide physical, social, emotional and learning support to Kindergarten students.  The Education Assistant will assist the Kindergarten teacher in their implementation of the daily program and instructional activities. Middle and Senior School Spanish (1.0 FTE)

This exceptional teaching opportunity has come about as the result of the retirement of a long-standing faculty member.  The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative teacher who appreciates working in a collaborative environment both within the department and across the curriculum. The successful candidate will also demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills in Spanish. Middle and Senior School Mathematics - temporary, maternity leave (1.0 FTE)

This teaching position will be a great fit for someone with experience teaching mathematics to Middle and/or Senior School.  The assignment will include teaching two sections of Grade 8, two sections of Grade 9 and one section of Grade 10 mathematics.  The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative teacher who appreciates working in a collaborative environment both within the department and across the curriculum.  Click here for more information.

Senior School Instrumental Music (1.0 FTE)

This rare and exceptional teaching opportunity has come about as the result of the retirement of a long-standing faculty member who has built an exceptional program. The School has recently opened remarkable fine and performing arts facilities including new band, drama, and choral rooms and multiple practice studios. Two on-site performance facilities including a state-of-the-art theatre and an open performance space in the new Arts Commons round out these impressive facilities. The value of the arts is firmly entrenched in the culture and ethos of the School and students participate capably and enthusiastically in these programs. The programs are very well resourced and supported by the community. Recent fine arts tours and performances have taken groups to New York, Italy, Russia and Los Angeles.
