Elementary School Division I (Grade 1-3) Homeroom Teacher
1.0 FTE Temporary One-Year (Parental Leave)
A Division I homeroom teacher is responsible for the day-to-day operation, management, and teaching of one of the Grade 1 -3 classes at STS. As such, the homeroom teacher is responsible for preparing for student learning; fostering positive relationships with students; creating an appropriate and engaging classroom environment; utilizing appropriate instructional techniques and strategies, and conducting assessments and evaluations.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and innovative teacher who appreciates working in a collaborative environment. The candidate will also have a strong understanding of the Alberta Program of Studies. Knowledge of and/or training in the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme (PYP) is an asset. In order to be successful in a technology-rich environment, candidates should have experience using technology to support student learning.
This is a 1.0 FTE temporary one-year position commencing September 2021 with the possibility of beginning in May 2021. The successful candidate must hold (or be eligible to obtain) an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
