Guest Teachers

Reports to: Divisional School Principals
Position Group: Faculty
Teaching Accountability: Casual on call
Term: Starting September (2022-2023 school year)

Detailed Job Description:

Our ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative teacher who appreciates working in a collaborative environment.  The candidate will also have a strong understanding of the Alberta Program of Studies. A knowledge of and/or training in the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme (PYP) is an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the curriculum and lesson plans assigned by the regular teacher
  • Follow procedures and achieve lesson goals;
  • Assign and explain homework;
  • Oversee students outside of the classroom including hallways and cafeteria;
  • Comply with all school regulations and policies at all times;
  • Take attendance and document daily notes;
  • Ensure classroom and work is kept clean and orderly;
  • Compile a report for the teacher for when they return.

Experience, Skills, Technical and Behavioural Competencies:

  • Current Alberta Teaching Certificate;
  • A minimum of 1-year experience on a similar role;
  • Must be detailed oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
