Kindergarten Teacher (1.0 FTE)
This exceptional teaching opportunity is being created due to the excitement, enthusiasm, and interest in adding a second Kindergarten class. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative teacher who appreciates working in a collaborative environment both within the department and across the School. As STS is a technology-rich school, candidates should have experience using technology in the classroom.
The Kindergarten teacher is responsible for the day-to-day operation, management and teaching of one of two Kindergarten classes at STS. As such, the Kindergarten teacher is responsible for fostering positive relationships with students; providing differentiated learning tasks; creating an appropriate and engaging classroom environment; implementing transdisciplinary and authentic learning experiences; and providing positive and effective assessments.

All faculty are expected to contribute to STS’ co-curricular activities and demonstrate commitment to students’ growth outside of the classroom. Employees new to STS participate in a dynamic and supportive mentorship program. This is a 1.0 FTE position commencing August 23, 2018 that will lead to a permanent contract upon a successful evaluation. The successful candidate must hold (or be eligible to obtain) an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
