Senior School Chemistry (1.0 FTE)
This exceptional teaching opportunity has come about as the result of the retirement of a long-standing faculty member. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative teacher who appreciates working in a collaborative environment both within the department and across the School. As STS is a technology rich school, candidates should have experience using technology in the science classroom.
This position involves teaching Chemistry, including IB Chemistry, to Grades 11 and 12 students, with the possibility of teaching Grade 10 Science. A knowledge of and/or training in the International Baccalaureate’s Diploma Programme (DP) and an undergraduate science degree are considered assets. The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of the Alberta science curriculum.
All faculty are expected to contribute to STS’s co-curricular activities and demonstrate commitment to students’ growth outside of the classroom. Employees new to STS participate in a dynamic and supportive mentorship program. This is a 1.0 FTE position commencing August 23, 2018 that will lead to a permanent contract upon a successful evaluation. The successful candidate must hold (or be eligible to obtain) an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
