The STS community came together Saturday, September 22, 2018 for the Homecoming Celebration and Family Fall Fair, which took place this year in the Sandy Heard Sports Center.

Our annual magazine, Optimum, is ready for your enjoyment. This year's magazine celebrates the traditions and accomplishments that all started at STS. "It Starts Here" holds meaning and excitement for our current students who have incredible opportunities to learn and develop, like those who came before them. 

Two of our esteemed alumni have been awarded honorary doctorates this month from the University of Calgary.

On Thursday, May 10, 2018 we held our 11^th Annual Alumni Dinner at Gasoline Alley in Heritage Park.  Over 230 members of the STS community came together to honour our 2018 Distinguished Alumna, Ms. Pam Heard ’73, retiring Head of School, Dr. William Jones, 2017 Nil Nisi Optimum Notable Alumni - Ms. Mercedes Stephenson ’99 and Mr. Micah Libin ’91, and retiring employees, Mrs. Dinnie Baker, Mrs. Sharon Gibson, Mr. Dan Hall, Mr. Rob Lederer, Mr. Art Thomson, and Mr. Brian Uzick.

While STS has been using momentum to move forward, Michael McNeil Forbes '94 has created a different kind of momentum in the scientific community - a negative-mass fluid, where forward momentum can mean moving backwards. 

As Founder and President of REAP (Respect for the Earth and All People), a Calgary-based business association focusing on improving communities and the environment, STS alumna Stephanie Jackman '90 is working to create a greener and brighter economic landscape in Calgary, one business at a time. 

On Wednesday, March 21, 2018, students, alumni, parents, faculty and staff participated in one of the school’s most cherished traditions at STS - Middle and Senior School Speech Day.

Nageeb Sumar '97 shares how his time at STS provided him the opportunity to achieve and become a well-rounded individual who could affect change and contribute to society.

Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School revealed its brand new $24-million, 100% donor-funded learning facility expansion on Friday, February 23 together with STS alumni, faculty, staff, donors and contractors. 

Twelve of our young alumni returned to STS on Thursday, February 22 to shared their stories about the rewards, surprises and challenges of university life with Grade 12 students at our annual “Tales from Undergrad Years” event. 

STS Alumnus and Class Valedictorian, Will Clark ’15, spoke to Mr. Frehlich’s design students this week.  In his talk, he discussed some interesting design projects he has been involved in while studying Mechatronics at Waterloo University in Ontario. 

It is our pleasure to announce that Ms. Pam Heard ’73 has been selected as the recipient of the Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School (STS) 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award.
