Benefits of early registration
It’s never too early to start thinking about where your children will be attending school next year.
November 30, 2023: Early Decision deadline for Grades 2 to 12.
Having a plan
If you apply before the deadline, you’ll know in December if your child has been accepted for the 2024-2025 school year. If you apply after the deadline, you may not hear back until the end of February — a 3-month delay. The sooner you know, the sooner you’ll be able to shift your attention to things like school uniforms, transportation, and finances.
Peace of mind
Students of all ages get excited about each new school year, but few enjoy uncertainties. Early registration at Strathcona-Tweedsmuir can spark that excitement early, giving them time to look forward to the experience. We welcome early visits to become familiar with our facilities, and we host an official shadow day in May so your child can experience a school day before it's their time to attend.
Coordinating with friends
Your child will make lifelong friends at Strathcona-Tweedsmuir, but it’s possible they already have friends you’d like them to attend school with. Early registration is an excellent opportunity to coordinate with your friends, family, and neighbours about where your children will be applying. With acceptances in place, you can then coordinate things like transportation and after-school care.
Guarantee a spot
Strathcona-Tweedsmuir is one of the top private schools in the area, with more applications received for each upcoming school year than can be accommodated. This is especially true for the highly competitive grades: 5, 7, and 10. To avoid disappointment, and to ensure you have time to make other arrangements, we highly recommend early registration.
Entry scholarships
Financial support — up to $5,000 — is available to new students through our STS Entry Scholarship Program. When you apply before the early registration deadline, you can apply for an entry scholarship at the same time and receive decisions about both applications in December. In addition to peace of mind, early decisions enable you to consider additional bursaries and scholarships, if needed.
