National Volunteer Appreciation Week 2021

National Volunteer Appreciation Week 2021

In recognition of National Volunteer Week, we celebrated and recognized our volunteers whose selfless dedication makes a world of a difference in our STS community. This year's theme, "The value of one, the power of many" speaks to the positive ripple effect volunteers have had in our community for generations of families. From assembling plexiglass tri-folds in preparation for school re-entry, to offering career advice and mentorship to our current students, and so much more, STS would not be the school it is today without our volunteers. I truly believe the spirit and ethos of agency and volunteerism is a hallmark of our community and this year, more than ever, I have been amazed and humbled by the work of our entire community at the school and beyond. Your selfless commitment to others, in all ways has made our local and global community stronger.

We extend a very special thank you to Amy Meyer and the entire Parents of Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School (POSTS) group for your tireless and selfless devotion to our school. You have been our secret weapon in staying positive and focused. Thank you for your dedication and hard work.

As part of our celebrations this week we recognized STS volunteers on social media, and parent and alumni volunteers were surprised with thank you signs on their front lawns this week, which brought about many smiles and a few happy tears. Check out some photos here.
