Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School (STS) is pleased to host globally renowned education experts Dr. Jennifer Chang Wathall and Dr. James Tanton for a two-day virtual professional development seminar, facilitated by learning specialist, Dr. Gina Cherkowski.
We invite educators across the world to join us July 8 and 9, 2021 for four half-day sessions:
1. Dr. Jennifer Chang Wathall presents: Transforming our Pedagogy to Thrive in a Hybrid Learning World, July 8 (morning)
- Applicable to all educators
2. Dr. Jennifer Chang Wathall presents: Teaching for Deep Conceptual Understanding; Designing for Inquiry in the Mathematics Classroom, July 8 (afternoon)
- Applicable to mathematics-focused educators
3. Dr. James Tanton presents: Fractions: A Helpful Overview of this Mathematical Gatekeeper, July 9 (morning)
- Applicable to mathematics-focused educators
4. Dr. James Tanton presents: Fostering Mathematical Thinking Through Exploding Dots: The Global Mathematics Phenomenon, July 9 (afternoon)
- Applicable to mathematics-focused educators
Sessions will be available individually or as one- or two-day packages. All participants will receive a certificate of completion for each session.
Cost:
$650 for full two days (four half-day sessions)
$350 for one day (two half-day sessions)
$200 per each half-day session
